The?ICT?Technician?is?responsible?for?:
·???????????liaising?with?the?school’s?teaching?and?administration?staff?to?define?ICT-related?objectives;
·???????????coordinating?the?technical?tasks?for?any?colleague?who?will?work?with?IT?support;
·???????????producing?task?sheets?with?appropriate?time-lines?and?deadlines?for?completion;
·???????????providing?in-house?training?for?teachers?and?admin?staff;
·???????????liaising?with?external?providers?for?repair,?maintenance?and?the?purchase?of?new?equipment;
·???????????the?development?and?oversight?of?software?solutions?which?support?the?teaching?and?learning?process,?especially?relating?to?student?performance?tracking?systems.
Systems?management
It?is?anticipated?that?the?school?will?develop?‘cloud-based’?server?solutions?for?ICT?functions.??However,?as?required,?the?ICT?Technician?will?undertake?all?aspects?of?maintenance?and?technical?support?services?to?maintain:

OIC?presently?runs?Windows-based?systems,?but?it?may?be?that?Linux-based?systems?will?be?introduced,?where?appropriate.

·???????????to?recommend?on?the?most?appropriate?software;
·???????????to?ensure?a?stock?of?printer?inks?is?maintained?in?school;
To?justify?the?reasons?behind?the?purchase?requests?for?hardware?and?software.
Maintenance?of?hardware
·???????????to?manage?the?school’s?ICT?equipment?stock;
·???????????to?ensure?the?safe?functioning?of?all?electrical?items?through?scheduled?maintenance?checks?on?all?electrical?items;
·???????????to?ensure?the?most?efficient?functioning?of?printers?and?peripherals.
ICT?support?services
·???????????to?act?as?adviser,?facilitator,?guide?and?troubleshooter?for?ICT?use?on?the?campus;
·???????????to?operate?video?cameras?as?requested?for?classroom?use;
·???????????to?edit?video?films;
·???????????to?work?directly?with?the?school’s?curriculum?leaders?to?ensure?that?students?optimize?their?use?of?ICT;
·???????????to?advise?on?cost-effective?strategies?for?eliminating?wastage.
Maintainance?of?stock?lists
·???????????to?manage?the?campus?stock?of?computers?and?ancillary?equipment
·???????????to?security-code?all?electrical?items;
·???????????to?manage?the?rolling?programme?of?replacement?of?technical?equipment;
The?ICT?Technician?has?a?strategic?development?role.??We?plan?to:
·???????????develop?the?use?of?ICT?across?the?campus,?highlighting?opportunities?for?all?CDOIC?students?to?use?technology?as?a?learning?tool;
·???????????share?best?practice?for?the?use?of?ICT?across?the?whole?campus;
·???????????maximize?the?use?of?the?school’s?ICT?facilities;
·???????????ensure?the?purchase?of?the?most?efficient?ICT?equipment?and?software;
·???????????minimize?the?need?for?time-consuming?repairs?on?sub-standard?equipment;
·???????????assist?the?school’s?administration?in?achieving?greater?efficiency.
